Choosing a Cast Iron Griddle

Do you own any cast iron tools, such as a griddle or a skillet? If you do, you know how incredible they are as cooking tools. You get an amazing product that will cook your food perfectly and deliciously, of course, assuming you know how to cook and use the griddle or skillet.
If you have just gotten your own place and need some new kitchen supplies or if your old pots and pans just aren’t up to par anymore, you should seriously consider getting yourself a cast iron griddle and skillet. There are countless benefits to this cooking utensil that we will discuss further.
First of all, you can get amazing flavor from cast iron. Pre-treat your pan so that it has life and flavor and then when you cook with it, it will release all the great flavors it holds. That is another thing. If you are low on iron, cooking with cast iron can get you that much needed mineral. Of course, if for some reason you have too much iron, be sure to avoid it.
It also has many benefits over its non-stick counterparts. Many of these other pots and pans have Teflon or other non-stick substances that are great in keeping your food from sticking, but can also be potentially harmful. If you have these types of pans with lots of scratches and missing coating, you can be pretty sure that most, if not all, of that coating went into your food and then into your system. Cast iron skillets and griddles do not have any toxic coatings.
Finally, these types of pans last a long time because they are made from such quality materials. Some people have cast iron cooking tools over a hundred years old that continue to outperform many other pots and pans that are years younger. A little bit of age and skill can go a long way.
